Connected to my previous post, The New York Times also published an article about Colombia´s Coffee Region, or how we colombians prefer to call it: El Eje Cafetero (The Coffee Crossroad/Axis). I personally have enjoyed numerous times the beauty of this region and I can say that appart from having the opportunity to taste the world's best and softest coffee, this place offers a unique sense of peacefulness that i have not met anywhere else.
This is a region with round mountains covered with coffee plantations where beautiful and traditional houses serve as small dots of colour in this unbelievable scenary. It's safe and also relatively cheap for american and european tourists. The food is amazing and the people, from my point of view, are the nicest of the country. The towns seem like taken from a children´s book where old churches break high into the Andes.
