A step down on fear

Fear is the most powerful weapon known to mankind. It has created in someway or another all of the wars, disputes and controversies since the beginning of our known history. Religion, as opposed to what its purpose should be, is responsible for much of the fear which surrounds humans. Now, in an attempt to take that fear away, the Vatican has erased the concept of limbo from the catholic doctrine.

What is the limbo? According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, the term Limbo (late Lat. limbus) is applied to (a) the temporary place or state of the souls of the just who, although purified from sin, were excluded from the beatific vision until Christ´s triumphant ascension into Heaven (the "limbus patrum"); or (b) to the permanent place or state of those unbaptized children and others who, dying without grievous personal sin, are excluded from the beatific vision on account of original sin alone (the "limbus infantium" or "puerorum").

So, today this definition only concerns those who havent been batized when they die. BUT NO ONE HAS TO WORRY ANYMORE. Why? As i said earlier, the Vatican decided to cut out this term from the catholic dictionary. Although for many people this action has no relevance at all, for many devote catholics this is the pill that will calm many worries.

So why was the Limbo invented in the first place? Apparently it was a dirty move to speed up baptisms and expand the catholic doctrine. The catholic church has been object to diverse actions and critisisms from different parties for the past years on different issues. On the top list we find pedophilia, homosexuality, contraceptives, divorce, etc... The church is not fond of backing up on these topics but somehow they have been forced to step down a bit on the severity of their doctrines (e.g. now gays who have 'stoped being gay' for 3 years can become priests)... i am going to reserve my coment on this, there is no point.
